Leadership Team & History
It all began in 1977, when James G. Tegeder founded a company called James Office Equipment in the basement of his home on a cornerstone of quality, integrity and service. James and Lola A. Tegeder served as directors of the corporation which was located in Waukesha, Wisconsin and provided office equipment such as copiers, typewriters, duplicating machines and fax machines along with equipment maintenance and repair services.
In 1982, James and Lola moved their business to a new location in Waukesha in order to support its growth. James unexpectedly passed away in 1984 and during this very difficult time, Lola took over the business to keep the company’s strong tradition alive. In 1988, Thomas J. Tegeder and Patrick Tegeder, sons of Lola and James, acquired ownership interests in the company and in 2004, Thomas purchased Patrick’s ownership interest. Since 2006, Lola has served as Chairman of the Board and CEO and Thomas has served as President.
The company relocated to its current location in Brookfield, Wisconsin in October of 2000. On July 14, 2005, James Office Equipment changed its name to James Imaging Systems, Inc., to more accurately reflect the fast growing digital imaging nature of the company’s business. James Imaging Systems has grown to be the second largest independent dealer in our market.
For 34 years, Lola and Tom have worked side-by-side through this ever-changing, dynamic industry. Their award-winning business has grown from just a few employees to well over 100. The company’s “team-first” mentality was first formed by James, and Lola and Tom credit their employees for the success of the business. Currently, the company is under construction to double the physical size of their Brookfield headquarters.
Lola Tegeder is the CEO of James Imaging Systems and is actively involved in its daily operations and her building expansion. As the majority shareholder, James Imaging Systems is recognized as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise at both the National and Wisconsin levels. In 2012, Lola was selected as one of only 14 recipients for the Governor’s Trailblazer Award for Women in Business. Lola studied at The Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha. Outside of the office, Lola enjoys spending time with her family.

Thomas J. Tegeder, President
Tom Tegeder is the President of James Imaging Systems and his career began when he was just a teenager and was tasked with duties that included sweeping the driveway and cleaning the offices in the building. Over time, he worked in various warehouse and office positions. While attending college at Carroll University, Tom assisted with deliveries and sales calls which led to his interest in sales. After college, Tom worked a sales territory in Milwaukee and then moved into a sales management position. He then served as Vice President prior to his current role as President. Tom is an active member of the Waukesha Rotary, Young Presidents’ Organization, and Select Dealer Group. Outside of the office, Tom loves to spend time with his wife and two children and sailing the beautiful lakes nearby.
